Since I'm not going to hack my sensor to figure this out, can two spliced sensor bars (diode isolated, of course) work on one wii? I'll pretend there are no fire hazard issues with the candle idea - but I can't imagine mounting candles to a headrest. :-D

The other issue is the relative proximity of two sensor bars anyway.

I don't think anyone has tried this, so it'd be an interesting experiment.

As far as I can tell, the only reason multiple sensor bars wouldn't work is if the Wii picks up more than 2 infrared spots and gets confused.

The sensor bars don't actually send anything back to the console, the only reason for the cable is power (hence, wireless sensor bars).

For a car Wii system, the easiest thing to do would be to mount 2 infrared LEDs and mount them in the desired location. It'd be feasible to have 2 pairs of "sensor LEDs" on each head rest. I see this becoming a problem with the close proximity though.

I can picture the people playing with "T-Rex" arms and holding the wiimote up against their chest to try and keep both LEDs in view of the wiimote IR receiver.

Check this out for lots of other awesome Wii projects: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/projects/wii/
