Default Help: Removing lock from glove box

I recently purchased a new glove box door to replace the old scuffed and scratched one.

I need help removing the locking mechanism. There's nothing online that I have found for the scion tc. I've seen guides for other cars, but it doesn't help me.

Thanks!

Paul

Im not sure how to do it, but I know it is possible. I bought my tc used and whoever owned it before removed the lock mechanism. I haven't been able to lock my glove box since day one, not that i really need to though...

Sorry this doesn't help much as far as actually removing it. But I figured I'd throw in that it is possible with our cars.

never mind. very simple.

open the latch handle, there's a gold c-clip on the backside of the locking mechanism that you can press in. Then with your other nimble finger, press the cylinder straight out!
