High output alternator?

yeah, i'm sarcastic pretty much all the time though lol.
but yeah i suggest some kinetic batteries
hc800 for the stock location and a hc1800 out back. for a batt cap i'd run at least a 15 farad BATT cap. not just a normal capacitor but a BATT CAP. That should beef up your electrical enough to support everything you want to do.

I've done a lot of research about all this. Even talked to the owner of Sundown Audio. He mentioned that a 180amp alternator is okay, but still not quite suffecient. I know I'll need more current if I run it at 1ohm. I have the big 3 already done in 1/0, stock battery under the hood, and a Kinetik HC1800 under my passenger seat. I have extra 1/0 that I'll be using for a negative run. Most SPL guys have a negative run of wire, too. Surprised the heck out of me, but it works. I'm sure it's a lot less resistance than stock sheet metal.
As soon as I get everything installed I'll see how my voltage does. I'll probably have to upgrade my battery under the hood, too. If I do that, I'll probably use an XS Power or an Odyssey.
I'm still a little iffy of installing an alternator built for a tC, Camry, and Highlander on my xB2... Everything looks the same, but the part numbers differ slightly. I guess we'll see when I receive and install it, right?

I'm hoping the internal regualtors don't differ. That's about all I'm worried about.

Rad. And see, I didn't know that!!
This is the first car I've ever owned that I 1. had to make payments on; 2. has fuel injection, not chevy TBI (wannabe fuel injection); 3. OBDII; 4. it's actually nice and fun to drive.

Please see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_pressure_level You must have the king-kong of electrical systems, amplifiers to drive efficient speakers with a ton of cone-surface area. That being said, for the sake of life long hearing, I hope you don't expose your ears to these extreme SPL's for prolonged periods of time.

Your experience as an intern at John Deere, Caterpillar, and "many other reputable companies", proves nothing. Anyone will be glad to have a grunt. Also, starting engineer jobs - in any field - do not pay $95K+. Since you don't know what I do, or how much Matt and I make, you're once again talking out of your ___. I'd be happy to compare credentials (Matt's or mine) at any time - but you've gotta post PROOF of yours first, because frankly, we don't believe a thing you say.
Seriously, put down the keyboard and go study.

sl is a petri dish for disputes and misinformation that i blame on lack of moderation and what i guess can be called forum leadership. both as a result of the target age group of our vehicles and the inherent lack of experience that comes with age. when will something be done...

It's not the moderator's job to be the source of information. We can all learn from eachother. The problem with forums is those that scream loudest, or have a high post count feel they're (and are viwed by others as) "experts" - and their posts might go "unverified". There's no "regulation" of information on forums. It's up to members to engage in rhetoric that provides proof for claims/myths/information.
