Default how can I get my steering wheel volume control lights back?

I have an aftermarket head unit installed which obviously doesnt work with the scion steering wheel controls. Im going to buy a PAC SWI-X to utilize the controls. but I still would like the leds for volume /tuning to light up. am I SOL? or what

I'm pretty sure when you hook up the PAC SWI-X, the lights will work as well. Or at least it did on the PAC unit for the Sony and Pioneer units.

purple wire that goes into the plug is the illumination for the steering wheel controls... give it power.
