Alright man, didn't know this was about one sub... but either way running a 2 ohm load would get more out of your amp than a 4 ohm load. Most amps provide more wattage a lower impedance.

Well if that is the case then run it in 4 ohm mono.

He can't run it at 4 ohms mono with the subs he's currently using...

we were talking about if i bought a new 2ohm DVC sub and ran its coils in series

You'd have to get (2) subs with 4 ohm DVC (series/parallel), OR a single sub with 2 ohm DVC - wired in series.

Provided you're keeping that amplifier....

I'd use two subs. The more cone surface are you have, the more output potential, and the better the sound quality.

I am trying to be a little cost effective with only buying one more amp and one more sub. If i was gonna buy to more subs and an amp i would probably just scrap my whole set up(since i got t for free) and start over
