Default Inline wire splicing...

Ok, so, I come from old fashioned strip two wire ends, twist them together, bend them over, then tape 'em country, and well, with all that going on, my wiring is starting to look like a flock of seagulls haircut. I was wondering what the technique was for splicing a wire into another without the cutting and making a wave shape with tape.

Thanks.

This is the modern splice method (just came across it about 6 months ago myself). The main wire crimp-on can be purchased in different sizes for different size wires. The Male (end of wire to join main) is just crimped on. It makes a real nice splice, but never as solid a connection as the twist and solder method. Scion uses this method in their cruise control. Works nice in very close quarters. Hope this helps. Good luck. Just reread your question, and perhaps you are not splicing into an existing wire, but want to continue on with the one wire. There is the butt connector, but that also leaves a "bump" in the tape. There is always shrink tubing, and solder the wire together (this leaves the smallest "bump". No longer sure of what you are asking, so hope this helps

Yeah, pretty much what koalaty2 said. I used the same kind of T-taps when I installed my sub.
