Installing LED Underglow and Other 12v Accs.
Hey I was wondering if anyone could help me.
I have a new LedGlow kit and was wondering if someone may know how to install it without using an add-a-circut. Pretty much go straight to the battery, my positive line has a built in fuse but have not been able to fine a tutorial online that gives any good advice.

you can do that, some pros some cons
Pro, you can run your underglow or accessories without your key in your ignition. good for tailgates and get togethers
Con, you can leave your lights or accessories on when you leave your car.
bad for a dead battery in the morning.
Most people use add a circuit just to make sure the power is protected by a fuse and is controlled by the ignition system.
Just make sure you use a correct size gauge of wire and fuse rating for the load and make sure the route you use to run your wiring don't have bad rub spots that could cause damage to the wiring and should be fine, if you always remember to turn everything off when you are done.

you mean "add a fuse"?
you can ground the unit anywhere to the chasis. just make sure it contacts metal. you might have to scratch some paint off to insure metal contact. find a bolt that is tighten to the chasis.
for power, you can connect it to any 12v power source. i dont reconmmend connecting it straight to the battery unless you use a fuse between the battery and the unit. i dont like the look of extra wires running off the battery either. i would use the power wire from the cigarette lighter. that way the lights will only be power when the key is on acc/on position.

I wanna use add-a-circut for my led kit. But if I was gonna use the lighter to power my interior pre wired leds would i just need to tap in or would i need an inline fuse.
And also do you know of a good control box of sorts to attach a bunch of prewired leds together and just tap the box into that power source?
