not to thread jack waterhurley but tkevin07, have you ever done an install like this before???? If you have not done one like it or anything close to it I recommend not even trying this install. It is not easy if it will be your first time have a pro do it.

Thats just my .02.

if you are going to be using the XK05 unit there is no keysense wire that you have to tap into you have to use the wires that are on the ECU that controls the bypass. There are 2 data wires that have to cut and wired into the XK05 unit. But you will see that when you get the unit.

no get the XK05, uses no keys only to program the unit then you get to keep all your keys.

yeah i qwent with the XK05 so i wouldnt loose a key. the 556U looses a key. the XK05 copys the programing from one of your keys. and like scioncraze05 said, theres no keysense wires to tep. just at the ecu like i explained. when i clean my car tomorow, if i feel like pulling apart my glovebox, ill show you the wires.

the instrunctions mine came with were very straight forward as long as u understand RS and alrams. BTW, also unlike the honda, the scion has 2 starter wires in which you will need a relay.

the car requires both starter wires being hot to start. took me 15 hours to do my scion. but that was full alarm and RS. i didnt even get too crazy with it.

Is the XK05 required for the viper 5002, alarm system without remote start? I plan on not using my original key that has the keyless entry functions and use the valet key instead to start the car. too bulky with the key and alarm pager together in my pocket.

if you are not installing a remote start then no... no module is needed for just and alarm/keyless...

its only needed for RS...

funny this thread pops up, im putting in my proximity sensor tomorrow (508d). havent read any install manuals yet but do i need to diode isolate the shock sensor and prox, or will it still work without diode and just suffer zone output on my remote?

^ no diode isolation necessary. you should have red, black, blue, and green wires from the brain to the shock sensor.... you can tie in those to your prox sensor too and roll with that.

the 508 is a simple install, have fun ;)
