Default iPod Direct Connect..

HELP!!! I purchased my tC back in Feb. Its an 09 tC! I love the iPod Connect to listen to my music but its annoying that I see the song that is playing on my factor head unit. BTW its just the standard head unit no upgrades to it. I was in my friends tC which is an 09 also. Her's tC shows the song and can skip tracks from her steering wheel controls. Why does mine not do this?? The only thing mine says in "iPod Direct Connect" I tried quite a few iPod devices (original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPod Nano 4th gen.) Any ideas why my Head Unit will not give me the song information or the option to skip songs? I have searched all over this forum and google and couldn't find any information to help me out.

Please help!!

double-check the audio manual on this one, but I believe if you hold the Audio Cont button while the headunit is powered off, the option to change between direct ipod control ON and OFF should come up. Just pick off, and you should be good.

so I double-checked this morning on my radio. here's

- put the ignition to ACC or ON
- power off the radio
- hold the "Audio Cont" button for 2-3 seconds
- iPod Direct Control ON/OFF should come up
- use the volume **** and change it to off
- press "Audio Cont" or Power and voila!

hope this helps!

Hi, new here, just got an 06 tC yesterday with the Pioneer system with the iPod control. I tried the above to set it so I can control the iPod from the iPod itself and the unit did nothing. I don't have the manual, any other ideas?

Thanks.

well, looks like this is probably not possible on the 06 in case anyone else is looking for the same thing.
