No I have to use the device controls.
Not that big of an issue really. You would be manipulating the HU controls and looking at that screen if it did work through the HU.

For those of us who want something simple, my '06 Scion is running the iPod through the armrest AUX jack and a Belkin Car Apadter, The Car adapter plugs into the power point in the armrest and then has a jack on the side to run a short mini to mini cable to the AUX jack, then all you do is plug the the other end of the cable into the iPod and it charges and what not as you drive and listen over your radio the cost is only $29.99

Default How..

does the aux box in the arm rest have two connections?

http://www.nyko.com/nyko/products/?i=44

That's a $12 solution that i like.. I have the belkin charger.. and its def. not worth 30 dollars.. plus i have a 15 hr battery life..

Does that work?

Umm.. will you be connecting that to the back of the pioneer player? That's why i don't want to buy one of those.. It would all be in the armrest and take up a ton of space.. Am I wrong? Is there some way to hid it?

It is not the regular charger, this one has a jack on the side of it that is located near where to out plugs in to once you have it plugged in, you are messing with it, it is just a on click connection to hook the ipod into.

Ok, so I was looking at this unit for replacing my stock unit. Anyone got opinions on this unit?

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-RW1gjB6...0&I=130DEHP380

On some websites it says it fits the tC, on others it says its not. (those sites also seem like they don't list ANY products for the tC though, so that might just be a lack of complete database) I was wondering though, It says it's Ipod capable... Does this actually have a spot where you just plug the ipod into it or do you still need one of these kits?

Just FYI for you tC people... and probably xA/xB too, to an extent... I have a sticky over in the tC ICE forum with some iPod options for your Scions:

bought a Pioneer CD-IB100 iPod Adapter from Best Buy for only $119. had the guys at Best Buy install it on my '05 tC single CD unit. after taking out the stereo, the Best Buy crew found out that i still need an adapter of some sort to connect the IP-BUS input cable coming from the CD-IB100 to the head unit.

tried searching on www.pie.net for that certain adapter but to no avail. i'll try emailling them as well but any suggestions would be appreciated. according to the Best Buy crew, it shouldn't cost no more than $40.

please help.
