JL 12W7 amp

JL 12W7 amp
So I have been itching to upgrade my system and I decided to get a JL 12W7 in a sealed box. The guys at the audio shop told me to power it with a HD 1200/1. I was thinking of a HD750/1 but they recommended the bigger one.
I then told them that from my understanding the alternator in the tC will handle 1200 watts and I already have a 65x4 amp powering my full range speakers. That would put me at 1460 watts. They said I should be fine if I upgrade the battery.
So what do you guys think? Should I go with the 1200/1 and a battery? Maybe an Optima yellow top?
Oh, and another question. I was powering some subs before so I already have the wiring set up for the amp install, but now that I'm upgrading, should I use a bigger fuse on the power wire by the battery? I have a 150 amp fuse in there now. Is that good enough? Thanks.

Well what u are saying really don't mean anything. You need to find the total amp draw off both amps together to figure out fuse size. A minimum of 4 ga. Power n ground are needed. Yellow tops arnt recommended for main batteries they r used as a back up (IMO) I'd use a red top up front. The w7 is rated at 750rms so the 750/1 is enough for what u need

OK, I told you the one amp is 65w x 4 and the second will be either 750 or 1200 so what size fuse do I need? And yes I have 4 gauge power and ground.

Man o man....ur 4 channel has a current draw of 60 amps the HD 750.1 also is about 60 amps so a 120 amp fuse is enough(fyi ur lights will hate u ) if u decide to run both off the 4ga. I would run a 0ga to a distribution block and take 2 4ga to each amp with a 4gs ground for each. U can also run 2 4ga back one for one and the other to another and fuse them at 60 each
