you have to drill two holes in the mounting bracket that'll make the unit sit about 1/2" further back.

yeah it is, but its worth it if u wanna close the radio door, and if u decide not to, i would recommend taking the radio door off all together

why do u suggest that? ive just been keeping it open... and i tried taking it apart a week or 2 ago and was going 2 drill but i remeber something made me think it wouldnt work, i forgot wat that was tho.. i think it was that if i moved the holes, the dash kit would look weird and it would look worse than it does now.

I wanted to make the radio door work with my f700. Luckily the awesome place I doubht it from included a great fitting dash kit which removes the door and makes it fit flush. No drilling at all. Definatly recommended

If you don't want to do that, you can dremel out the backside of the door where the volume button hits it.

kinda... just the indents, use those... and than eyeball it to make sure its moving enough... i moved mine back about 1/2 inch back... it fits, but 5/8th's might be the best but wouldnt be the indents... so i would just go with the indents if ur using a double din headunit... if urs doesnt have a **** for volume, the indents will be perfect.

oh hey man I had the same problem

oh by the way its DNX 5120 not DDX 512, but w/e

yeah the volume **** on our stereo is too big so just drilling new holes in the bracket isnt god enough. You have to take a cutting disk to the back of the radio door and make room for it. I'll see if I can get pics later but be prepared to cut alot...
