Okay...

I've been debating on which Kennwood Double Din I should go with. My freind has the DDX7017 in his 2003 4Runner and I like the fit. I was wondering if there are any HUGE differences between the two models?

I already think that DVD players are a RIP OFF but i've managed to scrape a few hundred dollars and am looking into the ICE aspect of my tC...

I checked on Ebay and between the two models there is about a $500 difference. Is the DDX8017 worth the extra money? Does it have more features packed into it that make it FAR superior than the previous model (DDX7017)?
Or should I jus settle for the old model and call it good?

I have an 05' SW tC so the whole steering wheel control thing shouldn't be a problem.

If you got the cash go for the 8017. Built in 5.1 dsp surround.

 

the DDX8017 has the built in surround and more eq settings. Better quality sound.

 

plus the interface isn't as geeky and you can use your own art.

and there are steering control leads (although last time I contacted Kenwood they had no interface for the leads).

 

HmM.. I guess I may opt to getting the newer model. Im jus gonna be ____ed when they lower the prices AGAIN when the newer model drops next year. Gosh I hate how they do that!!!!! But thanks for the input.

So like can you add your own images and what not to the interface? sounds like a cool idea.
