You're actually trying to take the entire hatch off the car?

no - just sound proof the inside of the trunk. I know you know your stuff because your "how-to" on taking everything else led me to where I am now after 4 days of work. Im now trying to deaden the trunk lid and install my speakers (which is turning out to be more then a 2 second thing).

Rear panel has 2 screws behind the handles

Has some fancy little sideways snaps in it too.

The way I did it was kinda backwards in that I started at the bottom and worked up. I believe it's designed to be taken off from the top beige piece first, then the sides, then the bottom.

No hatch no more

ok nice - i got my hatch off but I will take a picture and post the points (later tonight) that have those plastic white clips that u have to snap off. Also - make sure whoever takes back off .....you need to be a tad more forceful when taking it off but not enough that you think something is going to break. Be prepared to know this before starting to take this piece apart. Also - you open your trunk and the piece of plastic that is right next to your middle piece of the glass roof has to be removed. Then, you take the side pieces off and then the bottom piece (just like in the pictures above). Ill post pictures tonight.

here is what the plastic piece that gets snapped onto the trunk lid looks like. The green parts are the plastic pieces you need to pop off. I bought a $9-13 thing from crutchfield and it helped a lot with not damaging and plastic pieces. I only broke one of them when putting it back on (because I was rushing and not taking a flashlight to see if it was lined up before hitting it. This isnt hard but its hard to do the first time because when taking the lid back off its on there better then the other parts of the car ....meaning you need to use more force when poping the plastic pieces off with. Look above and see the other intructions for removing the lid. You need to take a few other screws out.... then use my picture to look at which snap points you will have:
