MTX Jackhammer or Kicker
#23
It's overpriced as hell, but JL does make a tC stealthbox with a 10w3v3. It does raise the floor up slightly so the rear seats don't fold completely flat.

Kicker's most notable current SQ competitors are Chad Romano, Markey Deitrich, and Tim and Allison Brown. I can't think of any MTX SQ competitors.

Re: MTX Jackhammer or Kicker
Oh noes, I fail Oh what could I ever do to measure up to nebster's standards without being him?
Back to the matter at hand for the OP, have you considered a box fitted for your vehicle? You stated your requirements to be
I was throwing the stealthbox out there as another choice that the OP may not have previously considered. Its (A) A single sub; (B) saves space (more than the MTX or Kicker, pretty much anything besides the Elemental Designs) and (C) will still hit hard for a 10". Look at it as three sides of a triangle, cost, performance and space. Depending on what the OP prioritizes most, he would push toward the MTX (cost), Kicker (performance) or space (would really recommend Elemental Designs or JL Stealthbox, MTX does not list the tC for their Thunderform fitted boxes).
Elemental design enclosure is here. Less output than the JL but keeps the stock floor height. http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/pro...roducts_id=465
Also, do you have an amp to use already or a price point for an amp? None of these are amplified so they will need one. If you have an amp already, it's power requirements will narrow your search. Good luck, my personal taste is to stay away from MTX, if they need to advertise it being loud by calling the model "Jackhammer", "Thump", "Crunk", "Earthquake", "Thunder", etc. it seems to be overselling it. Just give me a black on black cone with an alphanumeric model number, I'll let the sound advertise for me.

I was going to edit my thread to mention that they've all done very well with Kicker. I was just updating, and letting you know they've moved on.
I would vote for a JL Audio ported prefab box, but the OP didn't present that as an option.
