Mute button doesn't pause CD
Now what is going on with this? Everytime my cell phone rings or for whatever reason I mute my stereo while listening to my MP3 cds, it keeps playing. On my mercedes C240, when someone presses mute, the music pauses so that you don't miss any of it. Don't you think it would make a lot more sense for the tC to pause the CD when you press MUTE?!

Why have a pause button in addition to the power button when they have the same function when listening to a CD?

For muting the radio/CD in a hurry instead of holding the volume down button for a few seconds. I love the fact that it'll mute the radio in an instant and then return right to the volume I had it at. Pretty convenient if ya ask me.

I get what you mean though honestly. I don't even use the mute button because it's pretty much pointless. I just turn the radio off and the cd will pick up at the same spot you left it on.
What puzzles me is that my last pioneer Cd player had a pause button...GO FIGURE haaa ::

Like he said, the previous pioneers had a pause button. Mute seems pretty pointless if it's not going to pause!

the diff between power button and a pause button is waiting, when a cd is paused it dosnt stop spinning, instant music when un-paused verses waiting on the power button...americans very impatiant.... i wish the mute was a pause too

you know, i've never played a cd in the box.
I have the iPod HU, and use the pod most of the time - BUT I think the same trick will work...
when I want to pause/mute, I hit FM and then mute. to unpause I hit mute then aux - try that I bet it would work!

This thread is just silly. Deal with it i mean c'mon. So you press the mute button and there is magically silence. So you press the power button and *gasp* the same thing. If pressing the power button instead of the mute button gets your jollies by all means press the power button. If you are peaved that the "mute" button doesn't "pause" a CD get over it. Its a cd. Just replay the track. Evidently you like the song well enough to want to listen to all of it. Take the .5 seconds to press the button to play the track over again.
Yah know after typing all of this crap I've come to realize something. When I use my cell phone I don't even have to press ANYTHING to dial a number. Why do I have to press buttons on my head unit to play music?? GAW What kind of ghetto world are we living in?
