So I have searched long and hard on this forum and I cannot find a DIY install for the Pioneer AVIC-D2 head unit. Can anyone help me to find one/post a step by step installation guide with pictures? Thank you for help.

uhh.. exactly what did you need help in? location of wires? wire colors?

there isn't a DIY like you said... but most people have found the wiring colors fine.

there's a sticky for the wiring diagrams too if you want.. then open up the audio file.

 

i actually need the DIY. i dont want to pay best buy/car audio places to install it if i can do it myself. let me know if anyone has any info!

 

well... no pics... but its just like the D1 when i had it ... i put these things in all the time... take the brackets off the stock radio.. there are 4 indents on each bracket... you need to drill them out... not huge... just big enough to iso mount it... then line up the holes on the d2 and screw away.... now for the trim you have a few options... you can make your own out of ABS plastic... or you can buy the metra kit... i dont remember the part number but its on here... and uh... for the video bypass.. its kinda hard for beginners....so... uh pm me if you need help...
