So I got me a 2009 scion tc. Now here is where the problems started, I got the car at the end of the summer. My interior warped. The dash had warped and both side panels where your elbow would rest! Now I take it into the dealership, they said must be sun damage! So they replace them. So I tint my windows dark and I have a sun defector! Now in the winter I would get lots of ice build up in the car. I take it in they said nothings wrong! Now this summer the side panels and dash has warped 5times and they are telling me this happens in every single scion tc. What I really wanted to know if anyone else has this problem? They said they will not replace anymore or give me a brand new car. I am stuck on what to do! I even parked the car in a garage and it still warps! I live in Colorado by the way! Thanks to anyone who can help me with this problem!

 

Ya i have an 08 tC and i even park my car in a garage when im at home, and just from the time it sits outside during school my dash has started to warp a lil bit. I feel sorry for who ever has to leave their tC outside 24/7 :p

 

Get used to it. That huge package deal full of options for low cost comes at a price. I'm surprised your A pillar fabric hasn't started to bubble up yet. Bottom line, it's a cheap Toyota and it ain't gonna be perfect. I love my car though, defects and all. It adds character

 

Thanks for the replays back! Yeah I understand how it's made cheap! But still shouldn't do that. Oh well! I am just happy I'm not the only one with this problem.

 

^ You guys are the lucky ones. I've got an 07 RS3 and every other TC in FL I've seen has the armrest issue, and two have the A-Pillar fabric bubbling. 1 other has the bump under the dash just above the radio where the sun hits the black "rice paper" part. They range from 05's to 09's.

 

Just a little update! Today I talked to a main Toyota rep. They inspected my car and found my frame was bent! How this happen I do not know. They think when the car was made the frame had been bent but none of the workers noticed it. Most likely I will be getting a new car soon! I have to wait till Thursday when they make the decision on what to do.

They replaced the car with a new one! Lucky me lol! Well the new one is doing the same thing with warping so I took it in. They said, they looked at every tc they had and it was doing it. They told me they got a hold of the engineers about this problem! They said the engineers are gonna come up with a new dash and side panels and a recall from 07-010 for dash and side panels should happen within 3-5months! To be honest I didn't think I would get anything done about this lol. Let's hope they stick to there word! Cheap car or not you shouldn't have this problem.

 

Meh, that's where research before you buy comes into play because every car/truck I've ever owned had it's little issues. 2011 is a whole new car anyways...
