Just installed this last week.... The Unit /XM Adaptor/IPod Cable/Wiring Harness/ below listed kit... all for 710...

Buy this... and your side issue is fixed....

and change the background using I-Personalize.... there is a great brushed aluminum one that matches the stock trim well

i should have seen this sooner. if you haven't bought it yet, forget crutchfield. go to 11th & central in l.a. the whole block is nothing but vendors. i got the alpine deck there for $700 cash, no tax. one spot was even willing to take $650 cash but someone had already opened it and the guy didn't offer any warranty. the spot i got it from gave me 1-year warranty, so if anything happens i just go back and get a new one and they deal with alpine.

all together, i got the deck, the full speed ipod cable and the wire harness for $735. definitely cheaper than ebay.

i don't support gray market goods. doubt they know anything about car audio. but to each his own, for such a big investment like this...the only way to go is authorized than deal with a bunch of crooks when something goes wrong. thanks for helping tho

you make it sound like i bought it out of a guys trunk. i could have also done that for a couple hundred less, but i'm not stupid.

these are authorized dealers, shops you walk into. not everyone knows about them. i've lived in l.a. my whole life and didn't know this wonderland existed. one whole block with car audio vendor after vendor. if one place doesn't want to bargain with you, just walk out and go to the next one. trust me, they know their stuff. one guy introduced me to a brand called alphasonik. the guy swears their subs kick the shiet out of the solo-barics. (and before anybody gets butt-hurt with that comment, i'm just repeating what he said. however, my research so far doesn't give me reason to believe otherwise). and you can't tell me he's just trying to make money cuz the solo-barics cost more. then again, you're mostly buying the name.

but anywho, i also know where you're coming from so there's nothing wrong with you giving crutchfield $400 in profit for that added piece of mind. but i'm sure there's someone out there that will be thankful to know there IS an option to the best buys and circuit citys.
