has anyone ever installed seats, then taken them back out and put the OEM seats back in?

I sold my sparcos, put the OEM seats back in and hooked everything up but i cant get my airbag light to turn off...

i believe you might have to disconnect the battery for it to reset it. did you plug it all back in correctly?

I did that and everything is fine. Are you sure you reconnected everything? I'm not sure what year tC you have... but I had the pressure sensor for the passenger seat and then the little seat position sensor on the driver's seat (attaches to the outside rail).

As long as everything is connected, it should be fine. I didn't have to reset the ECU or anything.

ugh, this ____ing sucks.
ive double checked everything and its all plugged in.
pass seat weight sensor thing still works and everything.
i also had an aftermarket steering wheel installed but i checked that too and its all connected.
guess ill have to keep checking, wish there was some way to run a diagnostics scanner on it like an OBDII scanner.

you may have damaged the spiral assembly when putting the stock wheel back on, same thing happened to me, i put the stock wheel and seats on at the same time and the airbag light is still on... you can check the air bag system through OBD2 port but you need a special scanner, not one of the cheap ones you get from autozone or something... i use the one that toyota uses that can check everything, even if cruise control is working.

the spiral assembly is what hooks the airbag up to the harness. along with cruise, the audio controls and the horn. ie. i screwed up my spiral assembly but my audio controls still work but cruise, horn and airbags dont.

you dont have a friend thats a tech or sales person at a dealership? if so ask him to use techstream, its a laptop that hooks up to your OBDII connector.

damn, thats probably the culprit then, because my horns doesnt work when i press the button on the wheel, yet when i hit the panic button on my keys they do work.

where can i get a new spiral assy without being charged up the assy?

also, how do i go about not messing it up again when i install it?

the only way to know for sure that its not gonna be messed up is to get a new one from the dealership, they are wicked fragile =/

but they are like 200 from the dealer (and i work at one)
