Default Painting Key Fob

I'm thinking of painting the Key Fob (or whatever you call the key) black, but I am unsure of what paint to use nor how to do it. Has anyone ever done this? Also, does anyone know how to take apart the key itself? Wouldn't want to get paint on those buttons. Thank you in advance.

Dakine inspired me to do mine as well. I did them both white. There is a little lip somewhere on the key that can fit a tiny flathead or a knife. Just stick it in there and twist and the 2 sides will pop off. Tape off the actual key portion and tape off the logo on the one side and the keypad rubber on the other side [easy way is to put a bit of masking tape over it, and mold the tape to the curves of the outline of the logo/rubber with youre fingernails]. then cut along those indentions and you will be left with a perfect mask. i just used normal spray paint from home depot [the same stuff i used to do my dash]...

Uhm if you have a key ring or other keys they will hit around the key and begin to wear it away after a while [mines icky right now. Good thing i did two!] I heard there is soomething along the lines called Bonding paint that will bond itself to plastic alot better... I probably will use that my next time around.

Using very fine sandpaper will give the spray paint something better to adhed to.

Wal Mart seems to be the cheapest, and they now carry the satin finish, which IMO looks the best.
