Default Passenger seatbelt light wont turn off after nav unit instal

I Just finished installing a kenwood dnx5120 into my tc and everything works well except for the fact that there is a light on my dash that will not turn off. Its a little picture of a person sitting in a seat with an airbag infront of them and a seatbelt. I think this is for the passenger side airbag deployment sensor and i think that the car thinks that someone is seated in the passenger seat without a seatbelt when there is actually nobody there. The only thing that I think could have possibly triggered this is the fact that i grounded the parking switch of the nav unit, to be able to watch movies with the handbrake off. But still, i don't really see how that would cause this problem. Anybody have any suggestions? Any help will be greatly appreciated!! thanks

Obvious question... there's nothing on the seat, right? Try bouncing around in the passenger seat to see if the pressure sensor is stuck.

nope nothing on the seat. and i tried bouncing but nothing happened. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the wiring. Could it be from disconnecting the battery?

Check underneath the passenger seat for any loose connections.

its because you cycled the ignition while your waterfall / hvac unit was unplugged... it has the indicator in it "passenger airbag on/off" and if you unplug that and cycle the ignition the ecu receives an error message that your airbag system isn't fuctioning properly.... not sure what the reset proceedure is, you'll wanna check with your local dealer prob.

has absolutely nothing to do with your deck install mang... btw killer headunit ;)

thanks bro . makes sense, i probably did do that. I'll have to find out what the reset procedure is for that . but at least we've diagnosed the problem.

yeah, i'm a car audio installer and i've been there, done that a few times.... most vehicles are fairly simple to reset, just gotta call the dealer to see what the proceedure is. at least i know with nissan it involves turning the key on and off a few times till the light starts blinking slowly, but.....

good times ;)
