Pioneer AVH-P6800DVD
Does anyone in this forum know if the Pioneer AVH-P6800DVD in-dash dvd player will fit in the tc? i cannot find any measurements on this item to see if it will fit and no one at any of the stores I've been to seems to have any clue about this HU. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Alright all, here are the pics I promised. This HU is WAY better than I thought it would be. There's even a way to have NAV, which I didn't even know. I didn't even want NAV, which is why I got this HU anyway. The tCover still works even without having to drill new holes, which is cool. Big UPS to Mike Hunton for the install!!!

At the time I bought it, the HU was around $900 and the bluetooth adapter was $140. The way the bluetooth adapter works is just set your cell phone on bluetooth and the adapter automatically connects. Just accept the connection on your cell phone and you're connected.

I think it may be around $950 (don't know if retail is still $1400 on the pioneer website) and the bluetooth adapter is still the same price. I got them online from www.tundraelectronics.com for a pretty good price. As far as I know, the bluetooth adapter is sold out on their site, but they do offer a package with both units. I'm sure you can find them cheaper on ebay or something, but I wouldn't feel safe with buying electronics on ebay, since sometimes they say "refurbished" in really small lettering. I'd rather go through an actual store or company. This is a really good website. Fast shipping and pretty good deals. Customer service is great too.

The mic does come with the kit and it's currently located hidden inside the panel beside the radio, but I'm going to drill a hole beside the HU so that the mic sticks out for better voice clarity.
The steering wheel controls do not work but I think there is an adapter for it where you can use them on this HU. I actually didn't use them at all before since the radio is just an arms length away anyway. Plus, touchscreen kicks ___.

Yes, in order to bypass the warning screen, you need to install a switch in between the ground and the ebrake. I believe there's a post on this subject already as it has been talked about many times.

Yeah, all the cheats can be found on www.avic411.com. It's a nice site with hacks & cheats to all the pioneer HU's.
I was surprised that the cheat was this easy!!!
I heard the NAV systems were harder because of the gyro that's built into them. I didn't really need NAV anyway since I can use yahoo maps and mapquest for that. But the fact that you can still hook up a NAV system to this unit makes it a more awesome unit.
Now I gotta see if this unit is able to have custom backgrounds.

You're right, it's strictly for the AVIC HU's, but there's a general section for other HU's as well. That's where I actually found the bypass for my HU. It's rare that anyone has AVH's, every has AVIC's for NAV. I would rather have a DVD player than NAV anyway.
