Default PS3 in my scion tc=overboard?

ok peeps just wanted to know if i put a Playstation 3 aka PS3 in my tC would that be over doing it. because i have the $ just i dont know if its worth it just becasue a ps3 is so expensive still even after the hundred dollar price drop.

and just another question about the ps3 that may sway my descion, is there anything i could attach it to that would make it internet accessable on the road like how laptops are with the network cards that connect threw the cell companys, like sprint, at&T??

just get a ps2 slim and stick it in your glovebox and you'll be set. ps3 seems kinda overboard.

Be careful of the power requirements for those beefier game consoles. I know that the Xbox 360 will drain a normal car battery pretty fast (from what I remember) Plus you have to consider the power drain of whatever monitor you've got it hooked up to.

I dunno how much power the PS3 sucks away. Provided you don't have any other mods that draw power (amps, subs, lots of Neon / cathodes, lots of monitors) you're probably fine but you should check the ICE / Interior forum.

think about this one. when would you play it? while driving? or for 20 minutes on your break at work? $499 for that?

hmm.

he could use it at car shows, when someone is playing a video game or watching tv at a car show people start to stand around and view what is going on so that is a good idea and also remember the whole power drain might need an extra battery for all the juice.

I have a xB2 and I've done the Wii and a PS3 in my car. I upgraded the HDD on the PS3 from 60GB to 250GB and ran all my music, movies and videos off the PS3. I have a 6.1'' HU monitor and a 32" HDTV in my trunk. I don't know about the internet though. If you load up linux on the PS3 you may be able to get one of the USB modems from AT&T or Sprint to work with linux.

Just my .02C

Go ahead do it! You can even use the internet if you have hi-speed mobile internet on your laptop and simply connect it via WI-FI to your PS3. I tried it and it seemed to work. (although I did it in my house and my car, but I'm sure it would work)

Let us know how it works!

I know SPRINT sells it, don't know about the other major mobile carriers; but they have USB WI-FI cards now, I have on idea what a PS3 is capable of as far as that goes, but you might want to look into it.

It works with Wifi sharing... You might want to check on some PS3 forums though.
