Default PUSH BUTTON START DIY(PICTURES & A VIDEO ON PAGE 2)

I know some people have been wondering how to do a push button start similar to those found in the honda s2000 so here you go...

PART 1
Ok so heres my first attempt at a DIY ill start with the same way everyone else does : I am not resposible for anything you do to your car yada yada if you mess up I will take no blame for your mistakes but idk really how you can mess this up lol

STEP 1
Ok first things first to get this Engine Start Button working you are going to need to take apart the dash... if you havn't done this yet or don't no how to, do a search for mandos DIY its really pretty easy one of my friends who helped me put in my subs called tC's legos b/c they are so easy to take apart and put back together

STEP 2
Unplug the lighter and pull it out of the dash part... This doesn't come out easy at all however do not pull on it you must push it through just spend a few seconds looking at it and you will figure it out (NOTE in order for me to get it out i first had to take off the top part of the back black thing there is a clip also i took the metal lighter part out of the black part in order to push it all the way through but like I said if you spend some time with it you can get it without any trouble

STEP 3
Now we need to get access to the ignition and starter wires to do this we turn the steering wheel so we can see 2 screws one on each side unscrew these screws

once the screws are out gently pull down and the plastic cover will come off

STEP 4
Now you should have something that looks like this

We will need to tap the ignition wire and starter wires which are connected to the key cylinder here is a close up picture

Press in the tab and pull the plug out

here is a better angle of the wires we will tap...

the black and green wire are the starter wires most other cars only have 1 starter wire but we are lucky and have 2 NOT lol really its not a big deal though the black is our main and the green the 2 secondary the 3rd wire we will tap is the blue wire which is our ignition wire

STEP 5
This step really depends on what kind of button you plan on using. I used the Ingited proformance button but no matter which button you use, you will want to put it in your old lighter hole and wire it to your relay (The ignited proformance button doesn't need to be wired as the relay is part of the switch however, the honda s2000 push button start does need to be wired to a seperate relay which I can't help you with because I have not personaly done this)

PART 2
The rest of the steps are covered in your instructions if you do choose to buy the ignited proformance button I did however I will still explain how to do this for those who dont have this button or just to help you out as the instructions arn't the best

Part 2 will be finished tonight if i have a chance to finish some studyin for my finals if not it will for sure be done by the end of the week so stay tuned

TeeCizzle
Yes you still need the key and im pretty sure I put it on to "on" but idk i might have to check it it might work in "ACC"

Phanon
I couldnt bear to put a honda part on my tc i wont even put the antenna i had to buy a generic brand lol it just doesn't seem right to me the reason why i bought this car was to not be just another honda guy but to each is there own and minus that small factor it looks great! did you use one or two relays the other honda ones ive seen people used two one for each starter wire and how much did the honda button cost you? i was able to get mine for really cheap a few bucks over 30 and that includes shipping

EDIT: also i like mine b/c its blue, it lights up blue, and it matches my parking dome license plate, under dash lights, cubby, door handle, soon to be gauges and HAVC lights lol
