Default Question about steering wheel controls with aftermarket deck

Hey Guys

Is there a previous thread discussing the interaction of the steering wheel controls and aftermarket decks?

If not, how do they work with each other? Is it possible or are they pretty much useless?

this has been covered several times.

try searching around here (the ICE section). i know an adapter DOES exist for it. so it is NOT useless.

I emailed eclipse, and the tech responded saying that all of their units had the ability to be used with the toyota steering wheel controls, however for some of the units you would have to cut and splice or make make your own connector.

YES, its called a PAC-SWI-ALP. chech http://www.pac-audio.com or you can go through crutchfield and pay more for it. But that piece will work with Alpine and Kenwood decks. They also make other models to work with Sony, Pioneer, and an IR one to work with ANY radio

or the Peripheral PESWIX. Connect to steering control wire(s), power it, program it, mount the IR eye and youre done.
