What I had to do was remove the rubber flange that is on the console .......when you do this you then need to take an exacto knife and cut off the tabs hat held on the rubber flange.
then take some sandpaper to the bottom side of the console where the boot is going to mount.....and rough it up a bit then take some alcohol to clean the surface.....
A good epoxy for plastic will work great......I got a tube for like $3 from home depot called Handymans epoxy and it works on plastic,leather,wood,metal,etc.....
apply it to the console around the underside of the opening where you sanded and press the boot into place.the bot has cuts on the seams that almost fit perfectly to the new opening.....work with it a bit before doing the glue.
My brake goes all the way up no problem.......and it fits perfectly....at first the opening over the handle itself was a little tight but it has stretched out enough to flow freely now.......been 90 days now and it is still in place with no problems.
