I already have the short shift mod, but I woulld like to actually cut or shorten the actual stick shaft. Can I just saw the shaft and rethread to be able to reattach the TRD shift ****? Or does someone sell a DIY kit?

It's been done. My friend cut his and re-threaded it. I forgot what the thread size was tho. I do remember that the stick was very hard to cut.

might just want to get a shorter shifter. which one do you have? I have the twm and its pretty darn small.

I cut mine using a dremel tool i put a towel around the area so that I didn't get metal or burn the area. It was actually pretty easy. Just use a cutting wheel on the dremel and you can even cut titatium I've done it before it took a LONG time but dremels rule.

I dont plan on cutting mine but just for other people - how much did you cut off? ...and what short shift do you have?

why not just get a shortthrow shifter?

an inch or so would work just fine. don't forget you have to account for the top 1/2" thats going to be rethreaded, so you dont want to cut too much.
