hi everyone

I am thinking about getting a Sony XAV-W1 or Pioneer AVIC-F900BT
both are around $600 on Amazon and it's just really hard for me to decide which one to get......
I think the sony looks better and I heard the picture quality is really great on this one, but the pioneer has build in navi and blue tooth, which should be quite handy.
(I have a portable navi, but in dash one is always better, IMO)

Can anyone help me on this one? Or doesn't anyone have any other suggestion that look as nice as the sony and also has a build in nav and still in around $600?

If you don't need NAV and want a larger screen, get the Sony.

If you want NAV and don't mind a slightly smaller screen, get the AVIC.

Smaller screen or not, I just can't imagine spending that kind of $ and NOT getting NAV... but that's just me. I do love my 700BT though.

i know the nav is quite something.......that's why this is so hard for me to decide. the sony is kinda expensive for not having a nav, but i think it's how sony is.... when thinking about their other products (the vaio and bravia tv) Beautiful but expensive

I just got the 90bt, and I think it is great. If you want ipod connectivity, you are going to have to buy the cable ( I think it is like 15-50 bucks on ebay). That is with any model except the 90bt (900bt, 700bt, 500bt). I think mine is great, I love the bluetooth and the nav. I don't think I would spend $600 without all the bells and whistles.

Remember, you're going to need to install the antenna if you decide you want NAV. (Extra work for you! Yay!)
Did you read the reviews on Amazon? Is one better than the other? Go with the one that gets better reviews.
Personally, I would go with the Sony since you already have NAV. GL.

I heard Pioneer F series gets a lot better after the software update. Forum member Degooch got the sony one and love it.
I think right now I am just fighting between functionality and the looks.

I would do some more resaearch. I've heard both good and bad things with the avic f-setries..it seems really hit or miss with that unit. I've really only seen "i love it" and "i hate it" never really anything in between. I would go mess arond with one.

Ever consider other companies like kenwood or eclipse?

If i need a navi ill just get a tom tom or something. blue tooths not a big deal to me. Btw i wanted this for its excelent rating, and great looks and plenty of features.

I am going to get the Pioneer avic f700bt. In-dash navi is still a big attraction for me.......cant resist it. Also, 700bt is around 390 on Amazon. Going to save some cash and spend on other stuff. Thanks everyone for your opinion. Very helpful and appreciate it.
