stock electrical and a kicker zx750 and a kicker zx450.2?
i'm not a car audio noob by any means. but i just want to know how much power people have been running in the tc without a problem. i plan to change my mtx ta5601 amp out for a kicker zx750 and then add a zx450.2 for a set of front components. i'm pretty sure i should be ok with both of these but just want some reassurance.
the zx750 will be run at 2 ohms putting out roughly 900 watts rms
the zx450.2 will be run in 4 ohms stereo putting out roughly 150watts rms per channel.
i have no problem adding a second battery but will i need it?

2nd battery will only draw more current from the alternator and rob your amps. if the fuses aren't higher than the current output of the alternator you'll be fine. running more batteries is only for using the system while the engine is off, like at shows. upgrading your stock battery may be beneficial as well as doing a big 3 upgrade.

not a expert on audio but with those numbers i would put a cap on that setup to help with any draining but two batteries dont think you need them . but thats only my advice maybe more audio guys can chime in on this!
i have a zx400 right now pushing two ten inch sl5's but going to get that zx750 also and use the zx 400 for the components . as long as the zx750 is at 2 ohms you should be stable.
so if you find anything out that i dont know than pm me with results as to my setup is gonna be almost the same as yours

yea i plan on doing the big three with 0 gauge wire when i do this as well. i have also heard that the kicker amps are very efficient amps.
about the 2nd battery.... it only makes sense that there will be more draw because of the second battery if the 2nd battery is in need of charging but normally i don't see it drawing anything.

it wouldnt increase the amount of current available and since the only reason to have another battery is to run it when the engine's off it would have to charge when the engine is on. so in short if you're only wondering if you would need for while the engine is on, then no it's useless.

You should be just fine with the OEM electrical/charging system.

yes i know rocketgyrl is very smart when it comes to car audio. if she lived near me i would be taking lessons from her personally. :-)
if she says my stock electrical is enough, than it is.

how many times must it be said that caps do nothing in an already solid system?
i have a zx1500.1 and a zx450.2 in my tc with a red top and big 3 with no issues at all. (a big 3 is pretty cheap and well worth it.)

2 or 0 IMO... the less resistance the better...

according to this my 4 gauge should be ok for now... http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showth...ower+wire+size
bcae1.com also says 4 gauge is ok.
actually come to think of it, in my first car i had a rockford fosgate 801s and a 451s both running perfectly fine on 4 gauge wire. and those amps were not very efficient at all. made good power but took some power and got warm.

you dont NEED 0awg wire, but for both amps it will be better... and from KNU its not that expensive and well worth it IMO.
(30ft was more then enough for the big 3, run from bat to distro, and distro to one amp) dont forget fuses...

my list is zx450.2 amp, phoenix gold rsd 6.5" components, about 25 sq ft of dynamat extreme for the doors, egg carton foam for behind the speakers, distribution block, mdf baffles i will make, and another set of rca wires. hopefully i will have this done in the next month or so. i'm a little short on cash at the moment so it might be a lil bit, but i figured i'd get it all planned out.
