I don't know whats going on but I have gone threw at least 6 aux cords. Even the ones that cost me 25-30 dollars.
After awhile they start screwing up and only playin on the passenger side speakers. I have to play around with the cord or hold it a certain way for it to play on both sides.
I don't know if it's the arizona heat or they are just poorly made. Anyone else have this issue?

The cables can't go bad without something else going down with it. Try opening up your console and making sure everything is nice and tight, especially the plug that goes into the arm rest. If you want some pics of what to look for I can try and get you some.

get a multimeter and test it for continuity (tip to tip, ring to ring, sleeve to sleeve).. also try a diffrence input source to see if you get the same problem. i used a cheap cable and it worked just fine for as long as i used the stock deck. if you get continuity all through the cable just fine, then you even swapped input sources, and you still have the problem then its definately the wiring.

I bought one at best buy for $6. Had mine for about a year and it started doing that after 5 months. But as long as I turn the aux cable and avoid one area it will play both speakers. My aux prong somehow got bent though, i figured that was the reason.

doesn't sound like it's the cable. sounds like the aux connector in the console is faulty. Causing the connection to go bad.
You should've gone to radio shack and got a cable (1/8" stereo to 1/8" stereo, or 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo, same measurement), that way they'd help you if you brought it back, and they could've tested out the cable, unlike other places.
So do that, or go to the dealer and they'll have to replace the aux connector in the console, i bet that's what it is.
