I'm doing my best to understand this, so will give an attempt to reply. The extra wire on the LOC, my guess is that it is the ground wire. Is it black? So you did find a remote wire wire in the back, but not behind the HU? The LOC might also have a connection to link the remote wire. I bought a LOC by sosche from wal-mart, and that's what mine looked like. I decided to return it though...and went with this. Kind of expensive, but saved me the trouble of tapping into the wires. Especially if I want too upgrade my HU in the future.

Do you have an '07? I do wonder if the wires change between stock and upgraded HU or between '05 to '05

No..the LOC i bought from alpman has a 20 gauge (blaxk with white) wire that hanging around and supposed to insert into an empty space in stock head unit main hardness...but my stock HU doesn't have any empty slot for that....i just ignored that and tap my remote amp wire direct to the back of my car which came with factory sub...you will have that only if you car equip with factory sub....i found a remote wire at the back of my car not at front HU..also you can find any remote wire any where by using a multimeter to test it...when your key off....the line should show 0v...and when ur key on..it should show 12 to 13 volts...also the link you attached seen nice...but whether it fit mine..still a question...coz i dun have remote wire in my HU

check out my subs....

I have a Kicker ZX750.1 amp and it says it has speaker level inputs. Does that mean i don't need to buy a converter?

HELP Speakers TURN OFF AND ON !!!!!!

I am having a NIGHTMARE at the audio shop. I have a 06 scion with the ipod/sat upgrade to the stock HU. I put in a little system just for a little bump 10" RF P2 at 2 ohms and a 300.1 Kicker amp and had them install it all even with a bass level ****.

But now when I turn my system up around 35+ even when bass level is at differing levels the HU seems to shut off ALL of the speakers and it continues to run without any sound. I will then turn down the volume and after a certain amount of time depending on how loud I put the volume , all of the speakers will come on again.

In the lower volumes it just all shuts off for a second then back on like a cd skip but at Vol. 50 even with the bass level all down the whole system will shut off for a few minutes before coming back on.

I have read these forums and some of clubScion forums looking for answers and see that people are putting 1k watt systems on their stock HU with little to no problems.

Im using a 20 watt SI converter ( line out converter ) which could be the problem idk and I trust this audio shop to know what they are doing.

The guy there thinks it is some sort of Thermal shutoff in the stock HU when it gets too hot because he said he pulled out the unit and it could "fry an egg" when it shut off.

I know there could be a lot of issues possibly but right now I out on a limb. I asked an Electrical Engineer and he thought it could be a tripping an overload.

I really HOPE somebody has either had this issue or has a good idea of a fix.

i was thinking all the TC's had the subwoofer connector in the rear of the car, just not the subwoofer.

someone said they bought the harness for $52 in a previous post, and used that.

so does my 05 tC without a subwoofer, have the connector?

I would just cut off the OEM connector in the rear of the car for the OEM sub, and splice wires into that to hook up a Bazooka or basslink

quick question if anyone has an answer.... i want to take out the sub in the back that is stock in my 2005 tC and add two 10's instead. here's the deal does the wiring going to that sub go through an amp or come straight from the factory deck cause i'm going to be replacing the deck also and i want to make sure i'm not gonna be cutting myself short here. and if anyone knows any car clubs around the savannah, ga area that would be cool too. 'preciate it peace

Since you have an '05, I take it you have the optional 10" sub. Only the audio signal comes from the factory deck, there's an amp built into the sub enclosure. Neither the wiring nor the amp will be of use with what you plan to do.

This post intrigues me, i have an '05 tC and I'm interested in finally replacing my stock head unit with a newer aftermarket one. The thing I've always wondered about concerns my sub. I have the stock bazooka one that they offered way back in 2005, I'd like to keep that as i'm not a super big bass guy but will i have trouble getting it to work with an aftermarket unit (say the
Alpine's iDA-X305S)? Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask, should i open a new thread if not?

Ok I have searched but can't find what I'm looking for, I have a 08 tC with the factory sub in it I want to install the scion bazooka sub. My question is does it plug into the factory sub harness? Or do I have to buy the harness for it.

With the head unit off, hold down the menu button until the screen comes on and you are presented with some options. One of these options is to turn subwoofer control on/off.

so heres my dilema. i had a shop install my subs and amp to my '10 tc. im running on the stock headunit so they obviously had to use the line out converter. the thing is, the connected it to my stock sub. i wanna remove the stock sub from my trunk cuz its taking up space and weight. so, once i disconnect the line out converter from the stock sub, the aftermarket subs dont work. where do i reconnect the l.o.c. to? some have said to any speaker. if so, should i open a door panel to reach it? others have said to connect it straight to the wires behind the headunit. if so, which wire do i connect to since theres like 30 wires back there....

If you go to the back of the head unit there are a lot of wires however you can chose to have the rear speakers or the front speakers this is the following color codes that should work with your Head unit
FL + pink
FL - purple
FR + Green
FR - Blue
RL + brown
RL - yellow
RR + red
RR - white
this being said if you are going to run a sub through the line out converter dont bother with linking it to the rear speakers, my 06 head unit filters the low frequency.
thats why i am looking to get a after market head unit.
