Default Suggestions on box for a 13w7 JL in a tC

i have it in a ported box but it takes up the whole trunk. id love to go without fiberglass but i dont think i can use the space very well without it. just looking for some examples if there are any. i only saw one other tc with a 13w7 and it was in an identical box. its loud as hell but id like a little trunk space.

Guessing you didnt go with JL's specs on the box but to me it looks like the sealed box can be pretty small and save your trunk? Id go with it.

loose the spare and you'll be able to sink it further into the trunk

loose the spare and you'll be able to sink it further into the trunk. and port it anyway. it hits so much harder

heres an old pic of my car but i still have the box and its 1.8 cu which is basically what u need for a sealed box. but mines a 12" phoenix gold rsd12d. which i just blew actually...the voice coils slowly unravaling(sp). but it doesnt take that much space...and no my amps not mounted on my box anymore
and the back of the box is slanted to fit flush with the back of seats when there reclined 60 degrees

voicecoils don't rub on each other. it rubs in the magnet cuz it's been heated up too much. it has expanded or warped. get a better sub. How long is temporary? Why not get one really good sub? prolly outplay two regulars.

the rsd's are actually very good subwoofers. people have compared them to the w6v2 and the IDmax. they can handle a perfectly clean 1000 watts with no problem but give it much more or a dirty signal and they won't take it. but most subs don't like dirty clipped signals.

read here if you don't believe me about them being compared to the w6 and idmax... http://phoenixphorum.com/12-subwoofe...alec-vt16.html
