tC alarm kit

yeah save your money for an aftermarket system which will do a heck of alot more (some niiice systems for $400), i think the only benefit to having the tC alarm is that you can keep the controls to one key fob (your key) and it has the glass tapping feature but other then that nah its not worth it.

okay..... i want to clarify a few things that i've seen posted.
- Scion Security will use your stock key.
- Scion Security will not and make any beeping or honking noise when you lock/unlock doors.
(aacordon, i don't think you have Scion Security)
- RS2.0... NO special Scion Security.
- that Panic button is on EVERY key... hold it down to use. you don't need Scion Security for it.
and FINALLY.. there are aftermarket systems that can use the stock key.

my possible guess is that they installed another toyota type alarm or toyota contracted alarm.
the scion security should have a place in the switch panel that says "scion security" on it.. with a led light, and mic for the glass break sensor.
found pic of it from someone:
scion security does not have sound. i know that some toyota dealerships have contracts with other alarm companies. KARR especially for instance. i had a KARR system in my old tC and yeah... "honk honk"

Don't get the Scion Security system. I have it, and when I try to open the driver's or passneger's door by pulling on the handle, and while the system is armed, the alarm won't go off. Yet when I try to do the same thing with the tail gate, the alarm does go off. Is this supposed to work like this? I guess Toyota figured the most probable form of entry would be through the tail gate. :?
