Default Is there a Differance in Ipod ready & 6 cd-in dash unit

Or is my dealerships parts guy on drugs...I went in the other day to order the Upgraded radio for the 2006 TC you know the one that can change colors and can hold up to 6 cds in the head unit. I asked him if an Ipod could hook up to it and he said NO thats a differant radio and that the CD changer was a unit seperate from the radio... I was like WTF, and I asked if he had the parts catalog fot the 2006 TC and he didn't so I just ordered the fog light kit and went on my way. So Is their a differance between the 6-cd-in-dash and the Ipod radio or like I said before is the parts guy on drugs(not really j/k)

Yeah, there is a difference. I have the upgraded HU with iPod capability, and there's no cd changer. One disc only.

How do you figure four?

I just thought it was the stock, and the upgraded with ipod and the 6 disc changer was a seperate unit added to either.

That's how most cars have it these days, cd changer as an add-on to the stock HU.

I may be wrong, please correct if I am, but I do know I got the upgraded HU and I don't have a changer.

In 05, the available upgrade for the HU was the built in 6 disc changer. For 06/07, they no longer offered the 6 disc changer capability because instead they offered the iPod connection as the upgrade. I have that and see no need for a changer. Heck, I don't even need the single disc slot.

So, if you wanted a changer with the Scion/Pioneer HU, you'd have to buy a separate unit and mount it in the trunk or elsewhere.

if we're going by what he's saying.. or his parts... it would be one with ipod. one with 6 cd.. one with 1 cd. another with 6 and ipod... one with single cd and ipod....

it was an exaggerated number.. durr
