Turning Scion Security Chirps ON / OFF

Turning Scion Security Chirps ON / OFF
I've been reading different things about Scion Security and different people say different things, so I decided to find out about the Chirps.
If you have Scion Security on your TC, you have an option to turn the chirps on/off....all you have to do is open up the owner's manual. This is something nobody likes to do, but there is a separate smaller book for Scion Security which will tell you how to turn the Chirps on or off.
For the lazy ones...here is the step by step to turn Chirps on/off
1. Start with the L.E.D light switch in the OFF position, then turn the Ignition key to OFF
2. Within 10 seconds, cycle the L.E.D light switch to ON then OFF 3 times, which means a total of pressing and releasing the button 6 times.
3. If the chirps WERE OFF before you started, then you will hear 1 Chirp indicating that you have turned the Chirps ON.
4. If the chirps were on before you started, the you will hear 2 Chirps indication that they have been turned OFF.
After you are finished, make sure that your red L.E.D button is pushed IN which means that the Security feature is activated.

Yep, but it is not a switch, just a light and the glass break sensor. Not sure what you mean by switch. I also have read every manual that came with the car, including the alarm documentation, which does not mention anything about making it chirp. Not that I was looking to make it do so, I think alarms that make noise when armed are annoying as hell, but to each his own. But, on my 05 there is no LED "switch"

If this is a new feature, then that's AWESOME! It's about time they make it switchable.

That doesnt even resemble the scion security in my car. They either changed it for 06 or your dealer installs an aftermarket system, which some do. The scion security (in an 05 at least) has a small led, with openings for a microphone for the glass break sensor right above it in the same location on the dash. Did yours come with a 1 year theft warranty? If not, it is not a scion security system. Show the front of the manual you just showed us.

does anyone else have Scion Security on a 06. So far every person that has posted, has a 05. Thats the book that came along with the bazooka sub manual, the radio manual and all the other manuals that were in the glove box.
If you don't have a LED button that you can push, i could care less. I'm happy with the Alarm, I only tried to help people out who kept complaining about thei Scion Security not Chriping when Armed and Unarmed

no reason to jump down my throat..everyone likes to jump to conclusions so fast. Let's hear from some 2006 owners...This is obviously an improvement that was made to the 06, just like the radio.
