Default Viper alarm remote start issue.

Ok this morning my viper alarm just decides to randomly remote start my tC without me telling it to. I don't understand why it is just now doing this but it is a very big issue for me. I don't want the car starting and running out all my gas while at work and i come out to an empty gas tank.

What could be the problem and how can i fix it?

... you hit the button on the remote accidentally?

it's all on what unit you have.. and how it was installed.

well... the remote start should cut out after a certain timeframe..

not like it's gonna run the car until it runs out of gas... (unless the unit doesn't have that feature (unlikely) or somehow got installed improperly..)

but still odd..

i know i've seen issues with the alarm before if the battery in the remote was dying.. but don't think i've seen the remote set off the remote start because of that..

*shrug*

ok it just did it again. the battery meter says it is full. This time it even made the sound and showed on the remote that it was remote starting.

Wow, that's crazy. I have the same alarm. Never had that happen. Maybe take it to the place that installed it and have them look at it. Bad remote or wires touching somewhere perhaps

i think it might be a bad remote. I've dropped mine a few times so that might be it.

cool, here is the deal.

You have pushed the buttons in a certain order putting the alarm in a "winter" mode. It will start like every 3 hours until you reset it.
All you have to do is YOU remote start it and go out to the car and hit the break killing the car and resetting the alarm.

That is what it sounds like to me. Try that and let me know.

ok so i went out and remote started the car, unlocked it to get in, and then went straight to the break to kill the car. Then got out and locked it back.

That how I was supposed to do it?

Thanks for the knowledge, Will. Knew I liked u for a reason. Just couldn't remember y. ha ha j/k
