Is the VSE Bazooka Sub Worth the money??
I've been wanting to buy the custom bazooka subwoofer for a while now. However, I can't find any reviews of how good they sound. I'm not looking for anything with rediculous bass because i know this isnt the product for that. I found one online for $280, and i just want to know if any one is really happy with the product

I think there have been several threads on this subject already, try a search. I believe the general feeling is that it's not worth $280, and you could do a lot better for the same money with a different sub/box. However, there's a VSE on ebay right now, starting price is $120 - if you could get it for somewhere in that price range, it might be worth it. Check around though, and you might find the exact answer to your question in one of the previous threads. Benefit of the VSE, it doesn't take up all the trunk space - but peeps have some nice set-ups in other threads as well, where the subs are tucked or hidden down by the spare tire to save trunk space too. There are plenty of options, just a matter of your personal tastes.

Mandos - I was referring to your set ups in my earlier post, where the subs are hidden; sweet.

i had(still have?) the VSE Bazooka.
I enjoyed the stock setup of it, and it sounds like what you are looing for if your not looking for a rediculous bass expirience.
its a 100w speaker with a 60w (max) amp all in a 1cuft ported "custom" box. for what you get with it you're paying more for the fancy box than what speaker/amp your getting. and i like the box a lot and oddly enough get asked alot where i got it from.
I have since "frankenstiened" it out and am at that point with it that it is a good bit craxy. i gutted it out and sealed it up and stuck a kicker comp 10" in there and am using kenwood KAC 6202 amp stuck underneath it in the storage space. sounds rediculous now, its great.
and the wiring harness that comes with it (that you can buy separetly) is the greatest thing ever if your keeping the stock HU.
makes installing aftermarket amps and speakers a breeze, its awesome.
and it is possible to get to everthing underneath with the VSE box installed, you can slide the trunk floor cover out easily. the box doesn't sit on the trunks floor,
its not the same thing, the one at walmart is weaker. i think its 50w instead of 100w....
ah thats so sweet looking if i change i am definatley looking into that

We make that, should be out in a couple months(the speaker). Amp, you'd have to hide under seat/behind rear panel but no biggie

I really like mine, but I'm not a huge audiophile. As stated before, it's nowhere near ground shaking but it does compliment the stock stereo and speakers quite well. Overall I think it's a good choice if you just want a little bit of thump for yourself. If you're looking for something that people in the next lane will hear, look elsewhere.

OOOOHH...... I thought you had the Elemental Designs SQ10 subwoofer setup... my bad...
You could get better performance from Elemental Designs 11Ov.2's instead of the Type-R's... just a thought
