come to think of it Treo makes the same sub i have in an 8" version last i checked. check out the Treo SSi. the ten drops as low as i can see anything needing to drop for music(enclosure depending of course)and gets decently loud off of rated power.

O.k. again I'm looking for 2 8" subs so everyon can stop trying to convince me to go with 12s or higher! I don't care if they will hit lower or not. I really don't care about that at all. And 8's will take up less space in my corners than 12's due to the fact they will probly require less air space which means with 8s i will have more trunk space. I also am thinking about just running 1 10" sub since more companys do make them. So I really don't need to hear all this crap about 12s. In my opion I don't car for them and they take up way to much space.

ok. like stated before, soundsplinter, DD, ascendant audio, treo, jl, tcsounds(audiopulse now), RE, ED. they all make good eights. check them out. 1 ten or 2 tens isn't a bad option though.

my suggestion though if you choose eights will be the soundsplinter rl-i's. they are the best 8 inch sub you can buy. well them an the old tcsounds tc-1000 8 if you can still get one.

Ok i Looked into the soundsplinter rl-i's and I dont know what to get the dual 4ohm or single 4 ohm. If i'm running 2 of them what should I get and also what size amp should I run 2 them.

give them EACH anywhere up to 500 watts rms, id say minimum of 250 each. the ohms of the subs will depend on which amp you choose. i'd probably say get the dual 4 ohm versionsand get a mono-block amp that can take a 1 ohm final load and deliver from 500-1000 watts at that impedance.

o.k. so i think I have what subs I want to get I think I'm gone to go with the soundsplinter rl-i's dual 4ohm 2 8s. The question now is what brand amp I should purchase and what size.

pretty much anything that can do 500-1000 watts rms at 1 ohm cause thats what the subs will be wired to. i would try to get something that does close to 1000 watts rms even if you decide it's to much power for you, you can turn the gains down and have some headroom.

it will work fine but i'm not sure how good and dependable that amp really is. i haven't really heard much about the PG amps.

it's a 2 channel amp which is actually ok, just not as efficient.

if you do a 2 channel amp get one that does between 250 and 500 x2 at 2 ohms.

twist my words again plz.

lets make this real clear. a Fi BL is not an SQ sub. its an SPL sub. if you want an SQ sub from Fi, you go with the Q.

i never said what you're claiming i said.....5 examples that come to mind within 5 seconds....IDMAX, Q, Mag, TC-3000 (and all copies), W7, among others. all have great SQ and get loud.

i don't think i'd call the BL an all out spl sub. i think it's more just a daily sub that gets somewhat loud. in the right box i'm sure can have acceptable SQ.

uhhh i would say the BL is the among your list there. A BTL yeah it is an SPL sub. Anyways that 15"BL sub is not in the car right now, I have the 12" RE/FI sub in my car. Is a 12" just what you love...maybe that can better suit you.

Cool to watch, but would be impossible to do with my current setup since there is an infrasonic filter tuned to 18 Hz. If I want to feel some vibrations, I guess I'll have to loosen my engine mounts.

Now, to slightly threadjack, there has been a lot of postings on here about how some little companies out there are better than mainstream (JL, Kicker, Mephis, etc.) My only issue is how do you know who's actually good and who's junk. Is there a decent review site out there for the independents? Right now I judge by grammer (anything spelled Electronix, Xtreme, or sold through flea markets I avoid). I also don't put much stock in car audio dealers, no offense to those on here, but the one's I've met trump up the brands they sell and trash the ones they don't carry as inferior. Kinda like walking into a Cingular store and asking how good T-Mobile's network is.

the one JL w7's i beleive they are are the best i've heard. they pounded to hit 143 in a grand prix in a crap box, so they would be even better in a tc w/ a custom box just depends on what you wanna spend. because i'm upgrading my 8's to 10's because cheaper and better sound quality than spending $200/sub

if you don't get that there is a 800.1 PG amp on hookedontronics.com beleive it was, also check sonicelectronix, and partsexpress.com for low priced audio stuff as well. ( i just don't trust audio stuff on e-bay)
