Default Who has 2 0 awg GROUNDS in their tC?

:raises hand:

First off...new toy. Tsunami Yellow Top Battery Topper:

I'll be making a custom brushed-aluminum tie down.

From there we follow the ground wire back along the firewall:

In through the grommet on the passenger side(thanks JLTD):

Into my FUSED Tsunami 1 0awg to 2 0awg distro...they're out of the non-fused one right now and I needed something. 250amp ANL fuses are my friend:

And running down the side of the car:

Now, yes, I realize I have power running right next to speaker wire...but it's really the only way I can do it right now. I've listened for a while...there is no added noise. Plus, in theory, when you ground through your car, the entire car is technically the ground wire anyway

Back to making the dish fit.

Very impressive. Is your setup going to be ready for the db drags next weekend?

just out of curiousity... what's the point of running 1 0awg wire into 2 0awg wires? i mean... u can only draw so much power before the first line (before the split) will fail.

Shorter run = more amperage through it. There's only 1 0awg output on the battery topper.

5' of 0 awg can handle more current than my system will put out

Why groud to the battery when you can just ground it in the rear? I was under the impression that grounds need to be kept as short as possible

Once you ground it to the car, it's running through the entire car anyway.

Also...my hatch is glassed shut

Running it straight to the battery is the same, except I don't need to find a good enough place for a ground stock.

Plus, saying I have 4 0 awg runs in the car is awesome.

I haven't done it. I've only replaced the one under the battery tray...ran it back through the same spots

yo i got that set up, love the topper, its dope. i have everything grounded to the chassis though. is there a real good reason to run it back to the battery? you gonna set up the gm posts too?

Chassis ground is as good as 4 awg. If you're running too much power, that'll be a nice limit on your system.

Chassis ground is as good as 4 awg
is that because the factory return ground is 4 awg or because the actual chassis is equal to a 4 awg wire? i have multiple 0 awg running from the chassis to the neg battery. i used the gm posts for aditional grounds. i have a 20 farad cap but i still see the headlights dippn'. could i have charged it wrong or do i need the 0 awg return strait from the cap to the optima?

An actual chassis is only worth about 4 awg due to the welds.

Or so I've read. Was something done by JL Audio back in the day.

Straight run to batt > chassis.

so theres no reason to distribut the power through the chassis? (im not to good with physics) for some reason, theres something i remember hearing about having to have the power go through the chassis before its returned to the battery. im probly just trippn. set me strait if i am.

just a thought, wouldnt the size of the fuse (in mm not ampreres) somewhat be selfdefeating, because the fuses arent as large as the 0 awg wire. if you want an actual ground dist block (one thats all nickle) instead of a power dist block (one with fuse links) i get metra & tsunami stuff really cheap. check out http://tsunamionline.com/product.php?id=730

Which one do you think was out of stock when I bought mine

I'd actually prefer their new Marine grade Lok-Nut one. I'll get it once I get the new pricing
