Default Wiring Harness (70-1761 or 80-1761 or other...)

Which wiring harness do I need for my 2007 tC? I was told by a guy at Car Toys to get the Metra 70-1761. I have seen people use that on here or the Metra 80-1761. Anyone know the difference? Which would work best with my Kenwood 6019. Thanks

Well the 80-1761 is a Circuit City only piece.. It has the Toyota harness with a universal end on it.. then you can buy a radio harness such as a Sony, that has the universal end on it and click the 2 harness's together.. No splicing or cutting.. The 70- 1761 has the Toyota ends and then just bare wires at the other end.. Let me know if i confused you.

Here is what an 80-1761 looks like:

So the 70-1761 seems to be the best option. Just splice the open ends on that harness to the harness that came with the headunit? That correct?

AHH a CC guy, I work for BB as an installer. I wish we had those smart harnesses, makes installs so much quicker.

Would the other option even work...if I got both harnesses to "snap together" since I have the Kenwood 6019? There is a speed sense wire, parking brake, and reverse wire. None of those are on the non-kenwood harness...right? I would love not to splice wires together all day if that is an option.

Yeah went from 5mins of wiring a harness to 2 secs... made life easy, but you become lazy and get mad when you actually have to wire a harness up..

Proably not, unless you can depin the wires from the harness that has those 3 wires and repin them into the 80 series harness.. CC stopped carrying Kenwood about 2 yrs ago, so doubt you would find the Kenwood to universal harness anyway.. So 70-1761 and splicing will be what you have to do.
