Default Wiring help

i have a neon tube i wana install outside the car. could i just splice power into the parking lights so that they turn on when i press the unlock button then run the ground inside the car to a switch then grounding place? do i need to put an inline fuse if i splice into the parking lights? also how do i run a wire from the engine bay to the inside of the car? ive heard of the firewall but i dont exactly know where it is. pictures would really help because im a noob thanks

1. why are you gonna splice into your parking lights if your gonna run a switch for the neon tube, i'm confused abit because it sounds like you want it to turn on when you unlock your car right?
2. some people like to run fuses for everything but personally i wouldn't just for 1 neon tube.
3. the firewall is where a bunch of wires are being ran through and there is a sleeve type of boot on the driver side that you can open and run a wire through, it's really easy too instead of drilling through the firewall.

To find the gourmet on the fire wall, LAY on your back and look up, you will see a round circle with a bunch of wires coming through it. Either unwrap the tape and go through with the other wires or stick it under the gourmet.

i wanted to splice into the parking light so that it flashes when i press the unluck button like the parking lights do and have the switch so that i can turn it off when driving at nite. will splicing into something make like the parking lights make the parking light dim a little? also could i do the opposite and run the ground in the engine bay then run the power wire inside and tap into fuse box inside?{problem with that one is i wouldnt know which fuse to tap into to}

to make it easier just tap into the dome light and you'll be fine and will have less wiring to do with a switch as well but if your set on using the parking light then no it will not dim the parking light because your not gonna be driving with it and hopefully the neon tube doesn't require alot of power just to flash for a sec. look under your dash and you'll find the fuse box and on the cover it will tell you what each fuse is for and where it's located at, it will make your job easier.

why do you want it to flash when you hit the unlock button anyways, you wont be able to see it but for 1/2 second.
