Holy poop, QUAD CORE!!

I remember when I had a x286 pc lol. CPU WITH NO FAN LMAO.

I'm thinking about building an uber gaming machine. I've been out of the loop for a while, as far as hardware goes. I'm gonna have to check out tomshardware website and catch up.

I want to play World of Warcraft on max setting, with no lag time, at 30+ frames per second =)

and the new Unreal Tournament thats coming out.

I'm planning on spending probably 1500. Not all at once of course. I'll have to build it up piece by piece. The last machine I built was in 2001, and its still going strong.

P4 2.4ghz 533mhz bus
1gig of ram
Nvidia 128mb agp card
scsi harddrive
dual boot windows xp pro/linux redhat

The only thing thats gone bad is the onboard soundcard, and the powersupply. Other than that it was a pretty hefty machine in its time lol.

Any suggestions? on parts? video card? brand? Obviously I know what cpu your gonna recommend =)

I traded in my old tC that I paid 13,9 for, and they gave me 14k. '05 w/ 36k miles. Custom exhaust from the cat back, crappily wrapped a and b pillars, stock gunmetal painted wheels, tires were wasted, etc. I put on an M3 lip spoiler that they gave me extra for also.

Larry Miller Scion seems to actually like mildly modded tC's, and they try their hardest to still certify them with their mods (My tC had a Weapon R also that they kept on). Didn't decrease my resale value at all.

Bought my new one, '06 with same miles for the same price. Headers, intake, exhaust, RS1 enkei 18's, new tires, short shifter, etc :D

I had to order my TC, took almost 3 months. So i didnt have to come up with the down payment right then. I put my focus in the Auto trader. 5 weeks later i hit a deer with it about 100 yards from my work. Insurance company gave me almost 4k to fix it. Its now sitting my my garage in pieces. Im fixing it just enough to drive back and forth to work. I drive 35 miles one way to work, that would put a lot of miles on my new car.

Mengsta, the dealership doesn't really mind the door dings unless they are terribly bad and on the bodyline (the crease that runs along the car) which is harder to get out. $10 to get the dents pulled by the lot dent removal guy.

A kid I work with had an 07 tC bone stock with 18inch konig unknowns and 5k miles, a dealership closeby gave him 16k for it toward his trade. Not sure about all areas, but AZ, if you have a clean decently modded tC you're getting nearly full price of what they go for new.

hmmm thanks man that does sound reasonable. I thought dealerships would deduct hella money. If only i had a bit more cash id trade it in for an S2k in a minute. Or hmm i hate to say this but a Tiburon V6 is pretty cheap under 20k. what you guys think

I think the new s2k coming out looks really sick.
I prefer honda technology over hyundai technology any day of the week

Just my .02 cents.

Obviously they use exactly the same technique to install the factory spoiler, but apparently that didn't matter. They were looking for any excuse to lower the value of my trade. It would probably have been cheaper for me to remove the spoiler and get the trunk filled and repainted.

The dealer also didn't give a crap about my well-documented perfect service record, and they didn't give me any additional value for the first aid kit, owner's manual, floor mats, and so on. I wish I had removed that stuff and sold it on eBay.
DO you by chance have a picture of this echo with a spoiler, ive seen tons of those little cars, but never one that was modded before

Yeah, I have a bunch of pics. I still miss that car in a weird way, but the tC is much better.

Here it is when I got back from the dealership, bone stock...

And here it is after adding the spoiler and painting the plastic trim and mirrors...

And then it was definitely time to get the windows tinted...

And a couple of other little mods...

Tell me which looks better, the "before" shot or the "after" shot. I know I made that car look 5 times better than it did before. End of story.

I got rid of that third brake light pretty early on. After I got the spoiler with the built-in brake light, I had to lose the inside brake light.
