kinda like that whole "auto stick" feature.If your car is auto dont autoshift,its gona shift either way.No use in pretending,just get a manual.

I just ran the numbers through a spreadsheet I have to calculate wheel torques in each gear. It appears that the gears are widely spaced enough that revving all the way out to the rev limiter will give the fastest acceleration in every gear except possibly the 4-5 shift (which happens at 120mph).
This was based off a dyno of an 08 car that went to 6600 rpm. Power is dropping off fast, but each higher gear is spaced widely enough that the wheel torque after the shift is always less than or equal to the wheel torque at rev limit in the previous gear.
I have an 09 and I found that it will rev to somewhere around 6700rpm before it hits fuel cut.
