The fastest time I've seen for a stock RSX-S is 14.7, but that was probably a freak occurance, maybe a tail wind or something
More common for an experienced driver is 14.8, just like the Celica GTS (don't ever let anyone tell you a stock RSX-S is faster than a GTS. They're virtually identical). I don't see a 200hp tC matching that because of the extra weight, but it will come very close.
The key thing to remember here is, if you want an extra 70hp out of that tC, it will be MUCH less expensive to get than it is from the RSX or GTS. It's that wonderful thing called "factory boost" :D

Im no expert, but I think people are guessing a s/c power a little low. Most S/C adds a good 40% HP & 30% TQ. So say you have a s/c with a header & header back exhaust. So take those numbers to a 42% & 31% just to keep it conservative. You take the stock 160HP+42%= 227HP & the TQ would be a good 214. Now again this is just all guessing on my part, im just going but what I have seen most s/c makers claim on there products. I know some only add 30% HP while I have seen some claim up to 65%. So take this as it is just a guess.

With this motor being a 2.4 liter with low compression.. it is going to be pretty easy to get alot more hp out of the car with the supercharger. Larger pulley, fuel management, header, exhaust.. has ALOT of potential to get big numbers with proper tuning. TRD will just tune it up to around 200 because they'll want to keep it safe for their warranty. My thoughts atleast.

I have a Grand National for racing. The Scion is a commuter car. Sure you could invest $5000 into it and run deep in the 14's maybe, but why? Put it this way if you take a BONE stock GN in good running condition and invest a mere $1500 you will have yourself a solid 11 sec car(in race trim). If you want a race car then keep your Scion stock and invest your money into another car, a car with potential to be a real fast car. Plus why would you want to put all that stress on your brand new car that you need to drive EVERYDAY and needs to be reliable. Racing = Broken stuff. I applaud those people who do drive 11 or 12 sec cars as daily drivers but I just don't understand why. Just my $.02

And I can answer the daily driver thing. Some people like to have that power everywhere, not just at the track. Not to race around all the time, but (for example) to just feel some nice torque when the freeway suddenly clears in front of you. I agree it's never the best idea to start out with a fwd car with the purpose of making it fast in a straight line.

If you add any power, or even want to drag the tC or autocross/track day it, a limited slip diff will really be necessary. You can manage without it, but controlling wheelspin out of corners is difficult. I would love a TRD LSD, if only to keep the drivetrain warranty (mostly) intact.

hrm you all can argue. my friend got his tib fully loaded for 17,500. his entire custom turbo kit including injectors, manual boost controller, fuel pump, fuel reg, s-afc II, intercooler, lm-1 wideband kit, t3/t4 turbo, custom turbo manifold, custom piping. all that cost him 4k. add it up. 21,500. now add his custom exhaust, 300 bucks. annnnd thats all he has. so lets just say 22,000. hes running 11psi, on stock internals, hitting around 340 - 350whp. pulling 12's with street tires, no limited slip and 7" wide rims on a fwd tiburon v6.
does it really cost that much to make the car fast no? but he did get a car with 0 miles, make it 12 seconds and have it cost way less than any new evo or sti or rx-8 or 350z etc etc list goes on. too bad his traction sucks so he cannot do better times, because if it was the highway, he would tear apart the competition even worse.
mustang svt times are 12.9 stock. their 380rwhp. rear wheel launch and their times are worse than a lower hp fwd vehicle.
Now getting back to the point. yes anyone can get a 70's camaro body, drop 2000 and make it one hell of a fast fukin car, but how many NEW cars can you make extremely fast, handle awesome, look great all for around 22 - 25k.
/shrugs, if you get into his car you can still sniff the new car smell.
so bringing other cars into this is really pointless. everyone has their own opinions. You all should just concetrate on what the TC can do. No need to talk about grand nationals, this or that. cus everyone can come and tell a story like i did.
the potential on the tc is pretty high, but i think they are a few limitations to it.. : ) time will tell.

Does the reaction time even matter? I don't even thing it's a factor in your quarter mile run...It's only a factor if you're actually racing the person next to you... Which, in my case, I'm not...because I'm usually against EVOs, Camaros, and SRT4s...

Think about it - the light turns green - the timer starts ticking, and if you are sitting there slowly letting go of your clutch, adding some gas - the timer is still ticking...

If it's a factor in your quarter mile...and I had a perfect R/T of .5...I would've gotten a 16.4 with my stock xA...I don't think that's right...

That's what I actually thought when I read about your take on the R/T, but that kind of track is in a definite minority.

Reaction time has absolutely no effect on your 1/4 time or trap speeds. The "timer" starts as soon as it senses movement from the car, so the light can go green and you can sit there for 5 minutes if you want, it won't affect the 1/4 times.
However, in bracket racing they'll time your green light to go off based on your dial in time, so if you dial in a 12.00 and the guy your racing dials in a 14.00, your light will delay by 2 seconds......in that kind of racing the goal is to be the first through the 1/4 without "breaking out" (going faster than your dial in) and reaction times have a huge effect (assuming your car is consistant in the 1/4 times it runs)

this is the one thing i prayed wouldnt happen; people trying to race their tc's. they are just going to turn into the next rice mobile, and they will become known for only that. honestly, why did you get a TC if you want to race? Why didnt you get a mustang or camaro or something? Even an srt4... Seriously. We need to understand that our cars are econoboxes and are pretty slow. Let's not make the TC a part of the rice revolution. Seriously. We have slow cars and we need to face it.
