Default 20 - 40 more horses

i really don't want to by a SC or turbo for 3+ grand right now. i feel the 160hp on this car is fine and feels faster than the 200hp in my old camaro. i wouldn't mind another 20 horses though. any thoughts on how to get this without spending 3+grand?

CAI
exhaust
plugs/wires

would this give me 20 horses? ideas???

there was some page (can't remember which, and can't find it on google) where they dyno'd different parts and showed how you could get 23 whp from intake, headers and full exhaust. Showed dyno specs for each mod, and was pretty interesting. No clue where it is... anybody help? Was an online sales place, just can't remember which one.

I think that was on the fake website that some troll posted up. The parts are not ready to be able to dyno.

You should be able to get 12hp with just a header.........

I would think an upgraded ECU would do the trick, assuming bottlenecks like proper amount of air from a CAI and the exhaust gases can be expelled through a proper headers/downpipe and muffler combo. Those things in themselves would yield wicked gains, methinks...

So this "system" is an short ram intake and a programable piggy-back ecu? What is used to tune the system?

wouldn't an ECU upgrade easily void the warranty on the engine? you're talking about the computer chip there... I can see changing the header, intake, exhaust and dropping in the TRD supercharger, but what about when you walk into a dealer and say your engine's pre-igniting even when you run 93 octane and they plug a few wires into your car and tell you you voided your entire powertrain warranty by installing an aftermarket part and not set the cam timings properly?

I could see that happening...

I'm going with a new header, full cat-back exhaust, plugs and wires, intercooler and supercharger, and I'll be happy with my 250 horses under full warranty, thank'ya

yea, when you mess with the ECU, you gonna lose your warranty..though warranty does not stop a lot of people from doing mods to their car. "plugs and wires"..? you mean spark plugs and spark plug wires?...im pretty sure our cars, like other new toyotas are distributorless
