Default 5th gear shifter movement?

I just baught a 09 scion tc and its only got 380 miles on it so far.. All gears feel perfect until 5th. If im driving in fifth, and i give the car gas, i can feel the shifter move, i dont really know how to explain it other than when i give it gas, it moves away from me, and when i let off the gas it coimes back toward me, it has about a half inch movement. Any ideas what it could be?

i feel it. its not just your car. like you're holding the shifter and as soon as you press on the throttle, it moves a tad.

It's normal, and happens in any gear, and I have an 09 tC with 250 miles. It's not the only car to do it either, my 89 Celica does it too. I'm thinking engine mount bushings would help with that, any validity to that?

A half inch seems like a lot. Mine probably moves 1/4" or so. Just a little. But yes, every trans mission I have driven has this. My old car had it worse, probably because of 155k worth of shifts.

Yes, poly or solid mounts result in less movement, but there are trade-offs.
