How can yah miss 2nd from 1st? its a standard H... 1st> up, 2nd> down, 3rd>up and right.... so and and so forth.. so you shift 1 and then go right then up? And getting the shortshifter solved this problem for you?

Scincerly,

just taking a stab in the dark...
i think he might mean when you try to shift really fast and you let the clutch out before you pull it all the way back..
it happens. shortshifter or not. just be easy on it and get your timing down.

ahh I c. yah then you just need to work on your timing. and being a new car (don't know bout you guys) my throw isn't very smooth, so I can see how that can happen.

The more your drive it the better you will shift it. Just remember, not every shift needs to be the fastest you've ever made. (although someone did tell me continuous improvement)

Missing shifts happens all the time when you're at WOT. You have to pull the shifter so hard to get it into the shift gates that sometimes ur hand will slip off or ur foot will come off the clutch too fast or you'll accidentally put it in the wrong gear and send ur rpm's up way too high. Like dude said, practice makes perfect. But once in a while everyone misses a shift.

Ive been driving stick for 7 years i know how to drive, and no its not from racing or fast shifting, Its just a little longer throw than what im use too. So the shortshifter will be perfect, you dont know me so dont hate

It is beyond my reasoning how someone misses 2nd gear from 1st...that's just rediculous.

Even at WOT you should never have to "slam" or "pull the shifter hard" into gear...just a few fingers on the shift **** and a quick flick of the wrist.

Learn how to drive stick!

Probably just getting used to the shift setup on a different car. Once you get the short shifter you will need to practice a little to get used to it as well. Just practice it a little more and you will have it.

dude...7 years youve been driving...and you complain about the throw in the tC? havent you noticed that the throw is alot shorter than alot of cars out there? and yea learn how to drive cuz i know your hearing the grinding when u let the clutch up before the selector is all the way into 2nd...ive been driving stick for about 4 yrs and the tC has quite the short throw...and yess my manual feels like an automatic when i daily drive however it feels like a stick when im rippin it...just get used to it...youll be missing 2nd probably more often now with the short shifter...one who doesnt know how to shift responsibally should not get a short shifter...your power shifts will rip the tranny apart...either way good luck...just be easy on it...the car is brand new
