I don't feel that anyone should miss a shift if you're just driving normally. WOT is a different story, but this is my first car and I've never missed a gear. Granted I've never really gone WOT or redlined my car.

I've never missed a gear in my TC and I've been driving stick since 1995, so I don't know what else to say.

Even at WOT you should never have to "slam" or "pull the shifter hard" into gear...just a few fingers on the shift **** and a quick flick of the wrist.

Learn how to drive stick!

blah blah blah. enough. can we be hater free for a second. i know that shifting on the tc is short but i myself had some getting used to, to do, like everyone has to w/ a new car and im sure when u change the setup. constructive criticism is ok, hating is not

I have a TWM shoft shifter. If I try to shift from 1->2 really fast, it'll grind sometimes. This didn't happen before the short shifter, but I think that's probably just because I couldn't shift as fast with the stock setup.

I 100% agree with you. I've driven stick for 15 years. I've raced several cars on the track, so I *know* what I am doing. The tc is the only car I have ever had any kind of problems with grinding or missing shifts (and not while speed shifting either).

I missed 2nd gear once. In fact, I missed 2nd and 3rd gear. Was really tired at night and I went from 1st to 4th by accident.

I learned to drive stick on a 2001 BMW 545i 6 spd. After test driving the tC, I realize what normal car tranny's feel like.

You're spoiled when you drive a 6 spd Bimmer, we have a 2006 325i with a 6 spd now, and that thing is soooo easy to launch, shift, and start off from a stop.

Default Missing Gears?

Hahaha. this topic really cracks me up. It's simple 1-2-3-4-5. Then when you top out at 5th slam into (R). That will give you some extreme acceleration. (Negative Acceleration)

some people still don't realize the fact that u aren't actually "missing' 2nd...his timing is just off...im sure more people have missed 2nd at WOT and won't admit to it because they think its embarassing or something...give the guy help if he needs it..i dont see why there is so much bashing "dude whats up? u can get second" I've missed 2nd b4 because of timing as well...but long story short...haters need to stop hatin'
