Yes, but you don't attack the repo man. Technically, you can't defend property either with your handgun; you have to be attacked by the thief.

Tow truck. Typically no one questions a car getting towed from a parking lot or on the street in major metropolitan areas... especially if the tow truck looks legit. It's a big problem here in L.A.
I agree... one of my buddies had 2 of his Civic's stolen right infront of his house... gotta keep an eye out

Yup, in Texas it's legally to protect property. Which is one reason we have the reputation that we do. Then again, that's just how most of us were born and raised. If it ain't yours, don't F with it. If you do, you may have to deal with the consequences.

I imagine it's similar to a more Northern saying, "Don't start ..., won't be ...."

Anyway, I have security and such but I look at it this way. If someone is determined enough, they're gonna "win" and get your car. You can't always stop the most obvious threat, (theft, damage, accidents) but you can try to be prepared
(LoJack, insurance, foresight into not parking in dark areas, etc).

World isn't perfect, bad things will happen, but you can lessen their impact. Sorry to hear about anyone's beautiful car that got jacked though.

Hey, be positive, at least it shows our cars are highly wanted!

Wow, must be nice in Texas. Here in CA if someone breaks into your house and you shoot them you get sued.

In Florida, one also has the right to defend himself. I'd much rather live here where I'm not penalized for protecting the property and lives of not only myself but those for whom I care about.

Criminals should be afraid of their victims, not the other way around.

Amen.

In a conceal carry state, if you have a permit, you are legally able to protect your own safety outside your home with a firearm. So you know.. when you walk up on the car thief and catch them in the act.... and they attack you.. and you shoot them.. well........... heh heh.

I dont care, you mess with someone elses stuff, you deserve what you get. So whatever happens.. jail, a$$ beating, etc, you shouldnt have been there to start with as far as I am concerned! Although I have lived in the more politcally correct (although still in a state with conceal laws) north for a few years.. me and my family are from Georgia, then transplanted to OK... so we come from a little different mentality than some here. You do whatever you can for those good to you, and you dont mess with someone unless you are prepared to take some punishment for it. So hey, whatever happens to a thief..... :D

no matter what you do to your car, you can't defend yourself from a tow truck driver armed with a wheel dollies.

Unless you like to remove all your wheels every night
